James Pattinson is one of Australia’s leading fast bowlers and was one of the most exciting prospects in Australian cricket when he burst onto the scene in Test cricket with five-wicket hauls in his first two matches in 2011 against New Zealand. He was subsequently was named Man of the Series.
Just prior to this, he was given a Cricket Australia contract at the age of just 20 and was then picked for the Test tour of Sri Lanka when he had only six first-class matches to his name. He made his ODI debut for Australian in Bangladesh in the same year. In 2013, he represented Australia in a Test Series against India on a flat Chepauk surface and this was the first and only time an Australian fast bowler has picked up a five-wicket haul at Chepauk.
He has represented Nottinghamshire in County Cricket in England and has also had stints with the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians in the IPL and was part of the Mumbai Indians squad that took out the 2020 title.
